Rio concentrates his practice on commercial and residential real estate transactions, commercial real estate finance, commercial leasing, and project development. Rio also has experience with representing business entities in mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions and counseling business entities and their owners on various governance matters.
Rio received his law degree, cum laude, from the William S. Richardson School of Law, University of Hawai‘i. During law school, Rio served as a judicial extern to Judge Richard R. Clifton, United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and Associate Justice Sabrina S. McKenna, Supreme Court of the State of Hawai‘i. He also served as a staff writer on the University of Hawaii Law Review and competed on the Jessup International Law Moot Court Team.
