A multi-practice Cades Schutte team recently advised Areté Collective, a residential real estate development company, in its acquisition of 65 acres from Blackstone Real Estate for $43 million on the North Shore of O‘ahu. The land is adjacent to and part of Blackstone Real Estate’s larger sale, totaling $768 million, of the Turtle Bay Resort. Legal for the acquisition included land use, real estate, tax and employment advice.
Areté Collective’s project will focus on sustainable development, community partnerships, and preservation of the land’s natural beauty.
“We are proud to have advised Areté Collective in this transaction” said Christopher T. Harrison, a lead partner on the transaction. “We are excited for the plans they have ahead.”
“This project would not have been possible without the collaboration of Cades Schutte attorneys from multiple practice areas,” said Calvert G. Chipchase, who also served as a lead partner.
The team also included Rick Kiefer, Gabriel F. Gorman, Keola R. Whittaker, and Reyn S.P. Ono of the firm’s Real Estate team, David F.E. Banks and Nathan C. Yang from the Corporate team, and Cheryl L.M.T. Itagaki, Ryan M. Wilson, and Vito Galati of the Tax team.
