Governor David Ige has approved Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell’s Stay at Home/Work from Home Executive Order, which went into effect at midnight on Thursday, August 27 for two weeks through Wednesday, September 9. Under the Order, individuals in O‘ahu are to shelter in place, or stay at home or work from home “except for certain essential businesses, healthcare operations, essential infrastructure, and essential government functions.”
As a professional provider of legal services which is deemed an essential business in Hawai‘i, Cades Schutte continues to operate and to assist clients, although our attorneys and staff are working remotely as much as possible. Our secured systems and technologies are designed to protect confidentiality, and essential functions that cannot be performed offsite continue to be handled onsite by a limited number of people practicing social distancing and safe hygiene.
The Mayor’s latest order requires an essential business to disclose how best to reach it and continue services by phone or remotely. Our main reception desk in Honolulu can be reached at (808) 521-9200 and calls will be directed to someone who can assist you, or to one of our neighbor island offices on Maui, Kauai, or Hawai‘i. To the degree possible, we encourage anyone trying to reach our attorneys to do so by phone or remotely and we will be limiting in-person meetings to an absolute minimum.
