Lori is a partner in the Finance and Real Estate Department of Cades Schutte. She practices commercial real estate with a focus in retail, office, agricultural, and industrial leasing, purchase and sale transactions of retail, office, agricultural, and industrial projects, real estate finance, quiet title, partition, and boundary actions, and foreclosures.
Lori has nearly two decades of experience representing sellers, buyers, landlords, tenants, lenders and borrowers in a wide range of commercial real estate and finance transactions.
She was born and raised in Honolulu and is a 1995 graduate of Mid-Pacific Institute. She obtained her B.A. from the University of Hawai‘i in 1999, where she received degrees in Biology and Chemistry.
Lori earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from the William S. Richardson School of Law in 2004, and was salutatorian of her law school class. She received various awards including the Michael P. Porter Dean’s Scholastic Award for obtaining the number one ranking in her class during her 2L year, Dean’s Scholar Award, and the Francis Y. Sogi Fellowship Award.
While in law school, she served as a co-production editor and a member of the University of Hawai‘i Law Review and authored “ERISA and Federal Preemption Following Rush Prudential HMO, Inc. v. Moran: Preemptive Effects Felt in Hawai‘i,” 25 U. Haw. L. Rev. 593 (2003) and “Ozaki and Comparative Negligence: Imposing Joint Liability Where a Duty to Protect or Prevent Harm from Third Party Intentional Tortfeasors Exists is Fairer to Plaintiffs and Defendants,” 26 Haw. L. Rev. 575, 2004. Lori is a member of the Hawai‘i Bar Association and the American Bar Association. She is admitted to practice before all Hawai‘i courts, the United States District Court for the District of Hawai‘i, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
