HONOLULU (December 2020)–The holidays are a time that brings us together. Even though this holiday season will look and feel different for many of us, coming together to support each other is more important now than ever with so many people impacted by the pandemic.
As we approach the end of the year, the law firm of Cades Schutte LLP and the Cades Foundation, its charitable arm, continue their commitment to helping our community. During the second quarter of 2020, over $38,000 was given to the Hawaii Foodbank and $30,000 was given to the Institute for Human Services on behalf of Cades Schutte and its clients and friends, for the holiday season.
With a history of over 40 years, the Institute for Human Services is the oldest, largest, and most comprehensive human services agency that is focused on ending and preventing homelessness in Hawai‘i. Hawaii Foodbank is Hawai‘i’s leading hunger-relief organization, and this year, there has been an urgent need for help due to the arrival of COVID-19 in Hawai‘i. Hunger increased in the state by more than 60 percent and now, nearly a quarter of a million Hawai‘i residents are struggling with hunger.
