2025 Cades Schutte New Partners

HONOLULU (January 7, 2025)— Cades Schutte LLP is pleased to announce the elevation of three new partners in the Litigation and Trusts & Estates Departments of its Honolulu Office, effective January 1, 2025.

The following are Cades Schutte’s newest partners:

  • Pōhai Nu‘uhiwa Campbell is a member of the Trusts & Estates Department. She focuses her practice on estate planning, probate and trust administration, trust and estate disputes, and conservatorship and guardianship proceedings. A leader in the legal community, Pōhai completed the Hawaii State Bar Association (HSBA) Leadership Institute and has served on the boards of the HSBA’s Probate and Estate Planning and Elder Law sections. She is also committed to community service, volunteering with the Hawai‘i Estate Planning Council, Hawai‘i Women Lawyers, and the Hawai‘i Nature Center, in addition to providing pro bono work for Puʻuhonua O Waiʻanae. Pōhai has been recognized with the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement’s Empowering Oiwi Leadership Award, The Best Lawyers in America®’s Ones to Watch list, Pacific Business News’ 40 Under 40 award, and Hawaii Business Magazine‘s Emerging Legal Stars. She earned her B.S. from Winthrop University, graduating as class valedictorian, and her J.D. from the William S. Richardson School of Law, University of Hawai‘i, cum laude.
  • Jarrett A. Dempsey is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department.  He focuses his practice on medical malpractice litigation, insurance defense, and health law. He represents hospitals, nursing staff, and physicians in tort claims, premises liability claims, and insurance reimbursement proceedings. Jarrett also has experience structuring and incorporating nonprofit healthcare entities. In his litigation practice, Jarrett has gained significant experience navigating discovery disputes involving electronic medical records, information maintained under HIPAA and the HITECH Act, and other electronically stored information. As O‘ahu Director of the HSBA Young Lawyer’s Division, Jarrett led the expansion of volunteer legal hotlines for victims of the August 2023 Maui wildfires, providing guidance on document replacement, insurance, and landlord-tenant issues. He is recognized in The Best Lawyers in America®’s Ones to Watch list, Hawaii Business Magazine‘s Emerging Legal Stars, and was a Fellow in the HSBA 2022 Leadership Institute. Jarrett received his B.A. from the University of Hawaiʻi and his J.D., summa cum laude, from the William S. Richardson School of Law, University of Hawaiʻi.
  • Lindsay N. McAneeley is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department and Environmental Law Practice Group. She represents clients across a wide range of areas including complex commercial, business and environmental litigation, real property disputes, false-advertising and unfair competition claims, and employment-related cases. Her experience spans all aspects of litigation, including arbitration, trial, and appeals, as well as agency enforcement actions, contested case hearings, and administrative appeals.   She also routinely advises clients on matters involving contractual liability and compliance under state and federal environmental laws—including those related to solid and hazardous wastes, contamination cleanup, cesspools, underground storage tanks, pesticides, water quality and wetlands, shoreline erosion, and environmental assessments and impact statements—and assists with risk management and dispute resolution strategies. Before joining Cades Schutte, Lindsay was a partner and co-chair of the Environmental Practice Group at another well-regarded Hawai‘i law firm. She has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® and Super Lawyers®. Lindsay earned her B.S., with honors, from the University of British Columbia, and her J.D., summa cum laude, from the William S. Richardson School of Law, University of Hawai‘i.

“I am proud to congratulate Pōhai, Jarrett, and Lindsay on their well-deserved promotions to partnership,” said Ryan M. Wilson, partner and member of Cades Schutte’s Management Committee. “This new partner class represents a diverse blend of talent—attorneys who have been with us since their summer associate days and lateral hires who bring invaluable experience to the firm. Each one of them enhances our expertise across litigation, environmental law, and trusts and estates, and we look forward to their continued leadership and contributions to our clients and the community.”
