HONOLULU (January 2, 2024)—Cades Schutte LLP is proud to announce that Sachi E. Hiatt and Nathan C. Yang of its Finance, Real Estate, and Corporate Department have been promoted to partner, effective January 1, 2024.
The following is a list of Cades Schutte’s new partners:
- Sachi E. Hiatt is a partner in the Finance, Real Estate, and Corporate Department. Her practice focuses on real estate sales and acquisitions, condominiums and other planned developments, and land use review. Sachi has been involved in a variety of multimillion-dollar real estate transactions ranging from luxury residential property to vacant agricultural land or land under development. She regularly assists clients with due diligence issues and has a wide range of experience in the negotiation and preparation of property-related documents such as easements, licenses, leases, and other agreements. Her practice also includes the creation and registration of condominiums and subdivision developments. She obtained her J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Hawai‘i William S. Richardson School of Law and her B.A. from Harvard University. Raised on the Big Island, Sachi is a graduate of Hawai‘i Preparatory Academy.
- Nathan C. Yang is a partner in the Finance, Real Estate, and Corporate Department. Nate focuses his practice on commercial finance, affordable housing, and business transactions. He has guided a diverse range of clients, from individuals to multinational corporations, to achieve practical and cost-effective solutions for complex matters in industries including financial and professional services, hospitality, and real estate. Nate represents both lenders and borrowers from contract to close on commercial loans with an emphasis on project finance. His practice also involves advising on the development and finance of affordable housing projects, including projects utilizing low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC). Nate obtained his LL.M. in International and Comparative Law and J.D. from Duke University School of Law, B.A. from Pepperdine University, magna cum laude, and graduated as a valedictorian of ‘Iolani School.

Cades Schutte’s real estate team has grown significantly since 2023. Last year, the firm also welcomed Mark K. Murakami and Keola R. Whittaker as Of Counsel in the Honolulu (O‘ahu) and Kahului (Maui) offices, as well as Litigation associate Dave K.K. Miyamoto to the Honolulu office.
