2023 is nearly halfway done. At the end of last year, and in the first quarter of this year, Cades Schutte and The Cades Foundation have focused their efforts on giving back to multiple causes in the community. Below is a summary of some of these endeavors:
Family Programs Hawaii
The Cades Foundation donated $20,000 as title sponsor for Family Programs Hawaii’s 24th Annual Holiday Party for Keiki and Families in Foster Care. The holiday party returned to an in-person celebration at the Blaisdell Center Exhibition Hall on December 6, 2022, after being held virtually due to the pandemic for two years. With the support of the local community and sponsors, the event provided children, youth, and families with a day filled with fun activities, games, prizes, and delectable treats. The holiday party also included a visit from Santa Claus, who handed out presents to each and every child and youth in attendance. This year’s theme, “You Are Amazing,” focused on providing children with the knowledge that they matter and can have an equally amazing future, despite their hardships. The event’s return to the Blaisdell was welcomed by families, who missed the face-to-face interaction and the sense of community that the in-person event provides.

Hawai‘i Foodbank Law Coalition Food Drive
Cades Schutte LLP donated over $15,000 to the Hawaii State Bar Association (HSBA) and Hawai‘i Foodbank’s annual Law Coalition Food Drive, a combination of funds raised by Cades Schutte attorneys, staff, and partners. Hawai‘i Foodbank coalitions unite like-minded businesses, organizations, groups, and individuals in one common cause – to nourish our ‘ohana. They work together to gather food and raise funds on behalf of Hawai‘i Foodbank, and they play a vital role in its mission. This March, led by the HSBA, the legal industry committed to supporting Hawai‘i Foodbank leading up to Food Drive Day.

Cades Schutte recently donated $1,000 to Ronald McDonald House (RMHC) Hawai‘i through its Kaua‘i office. RMHC Hawai‘i President Jerri Chong gave Cades Schutte Management Committee member Amanda M. Jones and Līhuʻe office resident partner Allison Mizuo Lee a tour of the Judd Hillside House, which was arranged by RMHC Hawai‘i Board Member Dr. Barry Mizuo. Thank you very much for everything that RMHC does to support families with children in need of medical care in Hawai‘i. It is an honor to support your mission.
